We recently were given a DVD of Wes Anderson’s Fantastic Mr. Fox and our home has gone a little fox-crazy ever since. We have watched the movie many, many times in the last two months, we sing the “Boggis, Bunce, and Bean” song all day long and I even made bandit masks for the kids fox plushies. Foxes, badgers, weasels, and squirrels are really big over here right now. Farmers get a bad rap which I’ll need to remedy somehow soon. Nonetheless, the movie is so charming and so so beautiful to look at, that it is one “kids” movie I don’t mind watching and re-watching. In the yuck of February/March, it makes me long for late Summer and Fall and changing leaves and walks in the woods and campfires and orange, browns, and reds.
Once you start looking, you’ll be blown away by just how many woodland creatures, most especially foxes, are out in home decor land. I suppose foxes are really big right now everywhere, not just at our house.
